$100 million will be allocated for state support for the electrical industry of Uzbekistan - President

This year it is planned to launch solar and wind power plants with a capacity of 2 GW, and in 2024 another 4 GW. The President instructed to localize the production of cables, generators, inverters, transformers for stations and announced the allocation of $100 million to the electrical industry.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev at a meeting on November 28 discussed the development of the electrical industry in Uzbekistan.

According to the press service of the head of state, over the last six years, 224 projects worth $640 million have been launched in this area. Exports are expected to reach $1 billion by the end of this year.

At the same time, electrical products worth $800 million are imported into the country annually. Overall, the region has a $3 billion market.

“To take a worthy place in this market, it is necessary to establish cooperation with prestigious brands and produce competitive products. This will be given special attention in 141 projects planned for the next year worth $2 billion,” the message says.
