The President instructed to accelerate the provision of clean drinking water to the residents of Kashkadarya

Shavkat Mirziyoyev is holding a meeting on issues of comprehensive development of the Kashkadarya region. The President emphasized that one of the most pressing problems in the region remains providing the population with drinking water.

In this regard, the President instructed to complete within two months the construction of 747 km of water supply and sewerage networks, as well as 43 infrastructure facilities at the expense of 1 trillion soums. As a result, 200,000 residents will gain access to clean drinking water.

100 billion soums have been allocated for the implementation of the project to lay water supply networks from the Gissarak reservoir to the city of Karshi, as well as the Kamashi, Guzar and Karshi districts .

It was also tasked to attract another $210 million and ensure the high-quality implementation of the project. Thanks to this, 350,000 residents will be provided with clean drinking water.

In addition, the implementation of the project to reconstruct the Talimardzhan — Mubarek water supply system, aimed at improving water supply for another 700,000 residents of the Nishan, Kasbi, Mirishkor, Mubarek and Karshi districts, is beginning.

It is planned to complete the preparation of the feasibility study for the project by April 1 and attract $150 million for its implementation.
