The Ministry of Energy has disclosed data on the generated “green” energy in Uzbekistan
Since the beginning of the current year, solar and wind power plants (WPPs) have produced 4 billion kWh of electricity. This was reported by the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan."Today (October 20) by 12:00, the amount of electricity produced by all solar and wind power plants in our country since the beginning of the year amounted to 4 billion kWh," the ministry said in a statement.
Of this amount, 3.5 billion kWh was produced by solar power plants and 506.4 million kWh by wind power plants.
As a result, 1.2 billion cubic meters of natural gas were saved and 1.6 million tons of harmful emissions into the atmosphere were prevented.
It is noted that this volume of electricity is a 10-month social norm for 2 million households or an annual norm for 1.6 million households.
Recall that Uzbekistan intends to increase the share of "green" energy production in the total volume to 40% by 2030. By the beginning of 2024, the share of wind power plants in the total volume was only 10%.
At the same time, the country's president Shavkat Mirziyoyev said back in February of this year that the potential of wind power plants in Uzbekistan is 10-12 times higher than the need for electricity.
At the same time, it was predicted that by the end of 2024, the volume of "green" energy generation would reach 13 billion kilowatt-hours, and its share in the country's total energy balance would be 15%.
Earlier, Kun.uz wrote that in Uzbekistan, electricity worth 500 million soums was purchased from the population in the first two months.
