The installation of water meters in new buildings in Uzbekistan will become mandatory from 2027
From 2027, in projects for the construction of new apartment buildings in Uzbekistan, it is planned to mandatory install modern electronic drinking water meters. This is providedby decreePresident of Uzbekistan on February 24.
According to the document, water meters that have certificates of compliance with current technical regulations must be installed in all new multi-storey buildings in the entrances and apartments.
In addition, no more than one metering unit (measuring point) will be provided in drinking water supply networks included in apartments.
The Ministry of Construction and Housing and Communal Services, the Council of Ministers of Karakalpakstan, khokimiyats of the regions and Tashkent, as well as the Ministry of Economy and Finance were identified as responsible for the implementation of the measure.

At the same time, installation of water meters of the “Eco Nom” and “Novator” brandsnot alloweddue to the expiration of their certificates. At the same time, the Uzsuvtaminot company explained that previously installed and sealed meters of these brands can continue to be used.
