New buildings will be connected to central heating and equipped with electric stoves

In 2025, 135 thousand apartments in new buildings in Uzbekistan will be connected to centralized heating, and kitchens will be equipped with electric stoves. It is also planned to halve the energy consumption of street lighting in populated areas. The Ministry of Construction explained the refusal of gas boilers in favor of central heating.

In Uzbekistan, it is planned to switch to rational consumption of electricity in residential areas by transferring new buildings to centralized heating and electric stoves. This is stated in the "road map" approved by the presidential decree of February 21.

In 2025, the country plans to build residential buildings with 135 thousand apartments. They are planned to be connected to centralized heating. For safety reasons, kitchens in new houses will be equipped with electric stoves.

In addition, the authorities intend to halve the consumption of electricity for lighting internal roads in populated areas. The relevant proposals must be submitted to the Presidential Administration by April 1.

Also, in each region by April, it is planned to create at least two groups for the acceptance and maintenance of elevators. And to train specialists, at least 20 people in each region will undergo training in the maintenance and repair of elevator equipment.

In "New Uzbekistan" and other residential areas, at least 2% of the costs of building apartment buildings are planned to be spent on landscaping nearby areas. The relevant draft document has been instructed to be submitted to the Cabinet of Ministers by July 1.

The Ministry of Construction and Housing and Public Utilities told Gazeta.uz that this year it is planned to create a national information system "Turar-joy" to record the technical condition of housing.

In addition, it is planned to introduce a single platform "Safe Elevator". To monitor the condition and operation of 8942 elevators in multi-story buildings, a technical inspection will be carried out. Over the course of five years, it is planned to renew 2001 elevators, and another 382 units will undergo major repairs.

Why central heating?
In response to a request from Gazeta.uz, the Ministry of Construction noted that in Karakalpakstan, the regions and Tashkent, it is planned to build 120 thousand apartments in multi-story buildings in 2025.

According to the presidential decree of December 9, 2021 (UP-32) on the creation of residential areas "Yangi Uzbekistan", 29 thousand apartments will be provided with centralized heating.

In New Tashkent, 15 thousand apartments will be heated and cooled by a trigeneration system that simultaneously produces electricity, heat and cold.

In regions with high demand for housing, 91 thousand apartments will be built. In new buildings located in areas with access to centralized heat supply, technical conditions for connection to city boiler houses will be obtained. In areas where there is no connection to centralized heat supply, new boiler houses will be built.

The Ministry of Construction named flexibility in the use of fuel (natural gas, coal, fuel oil), safe and stable heat supply and half the gas consumption compared to individual boilers as advantages of centralized boiler houses.

At the same time, the authorities are considering switching to a closed heat supply system. In such systems, the coolant circulates in pipes and radiators only for heating, and hot water for domestic needs is heated in heat exchangers or boilers.

A closed system assumes that multi-storey buildings and social facilities will be connected to a new heat supply scheme, in which water will be heated directly at the facility. This will allow for more efficient use of heat energy and will significantly reduce the losses that the heat supply system currently incurs. In addition, with a closed system, residents will be able to independently control the heat in their apartments.
