A new treatment facility for the capital`s sewer system will be built in Tashkent region
A new treatment facility with a capacity of processing 1 million cubic meters of wastewater per day will be built in the Tashkent region. More than 500 thousand citizens and 100 enterprises will have access to a centralized sewerage system. The project is being implemented by a consortium of companies from the UAE, France and Japan.The signing ceremony of the agreement on the development of a project for the construction of a new treatment facility in the Kuyichirchik district of the Tashkent region took place on August 13, the press service of the Uzsuvtaminot company reported.
It was attended by the Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov, representatives of the Abu Dhabi Sustainable Water Solutions (SWS) company and the acting head of Uzsuvtaminot Akhmad Suvonkulov.
The project envisages the construction of a modern sewage treatment plant with a capacity of 1 million cubic meters per day with a subsequent output of 1.5 million cubic meters on the territory of the citizens' gathering of the mahalla "Surum" and a sewage collector with a length of 42 km.
The project will be implemented by a consortium of companies, which also includes Suez (France) and Marubeni (Japan), selected as SWS technology partners.
The facility will implement SCADA (control and data acquisition systems) and GIS (geographical information systems) systems to monitor and manage wastewater treatment and transportation processes.
As a result of the introduction of modern technologies, the efficiency of the wastewater treatment process is expected to increase, and the rational use of resources will be ensured. It is planned to save more than 10 million kW of electricity.
The project will improve the sanitary and epidemiological condition of the Sergeli, Bektemir and Yangihayot districts of Tashkent and sewerage services for almost 1.5 million residents. Over 500 thousand citizens and 100 enterprises and organizations will have access to centralized sewerage services.
Speaking at the event, the acting head of "Uzsuvtaminot" Akhmad Suvonkulov noted that the successful implementation of the project will ensure effective and long-term cooperation. He also expressed readiness to implement other projects to develop the drinking water supply and sanitation system.
Abu Dhabi Sustainable Water Solutions is the only company for the collection, treatment and reuse of wastewater in Abu Dhabi (UAE). Every day, over 1.3 million cubic meters of water are collected through an extensive network of 12 thousand km, the system is supported by more than 200 pumping stations and 42 treatment plants.
